After moving to Emeryville from Oakland in 2023 I built out a workshop for bikes in the basement of my new apartment. I opened it up to friends to fix bikes, prep for tours, and hang out. As a joke, I started calling it Sunshine East, in reference to my Dad's (real) shop in Fairfax, Sunshine Bicycle Center.

The name acknowledges the bike legacy of the North Bay that raised me and pays tribute to my life in the East Bay. Now I'm hoping it can represent another strong interest of mine, taking analog pictures of the people and places that comprise the beautiful and unhinged Bay Area endurance cycling scene.
